Unit aims

This unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of those aspects of organizations that concern and support people. This includes communication practices, teamwork, remote working and other organizational structures. Using this knowledge and understanding, learners will be able to review the impact of workplace practices on people.

Unit aims

The aim of this unit is to provide an overview of the human and physical resources needed in a range of organizations, including those in the primary, service and manufacturing sectors. The unit develops an understanding of the impact of efficiency on organizations. Learners will use this knowledge and understanding to review the effective use of resources within an organization

This unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of communication within and between organizations. Learners will also review their own communication skills in an organizational context

This unit will enable the learner to develop knowledge and understanding of business ethics and the effects ethics can have on organizations, including planning and the management of their goals and activities.

This unit will develop learners’ understanding of the national and global business environment and the internal and external circumstances in which different organizations operate.

  4. Understand the nature of the national environment in which organizations operate

To develop a knowledge and understanding of fundamental financial and management accounting techniques that are used by managers in organizations and to develop skills enabling learners to apply these techniques.

  1. Understand financial and management accounting systems 
  2. Be able to assess business organization performance
  3. Be able to apply management accounting techniques

Unit aims

This unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of the communication practices within organizations and learners are introduced to the different modes and channels of communication used in organizations. In addition, the unit aims to develop learners’ oral and written communication skills, enabling them to apply these skills to typical organizational requirements.

This unit develops learners understanding of the issues organizations face operating within a global context. This understanding will allow learners to review the issues currently impacting on business organizations.

  2. Understand the impact of external factors on global business organizations 
  3. Understand the impact of globalization on the internal operations of business organizations 
  4. Be able to review current issues that impact on business activities of a specified country 

Unit aims

This unit will enable learners to acquire the knowledge and understanding of sustainability, as it relates to organizations. This includes the legal and regulatory requirements and how to achieve relevant quality standards. The unit will also enable learners to develop skills required to audit sustainability.

  1. Understand issues relating to sustainability in organizations 
  2. Understand how legislation, regulation, and guidance impact on the sustainability of organizations 
  3. Be able to audit the sustainability of an organization

This unit will enable learners to understand how to manage individuals and teams. They will study organizational factors and how these impact on and influence individual and team behavior, as well as learning management tools and techniques to help them effectively manage individuals and teams.

The aim of this unit is to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required to manage change within an organization. Learners will develop an understanding of the need for managing change and the different models that can be used to support this process
